For the Kids Itinerary

While Bucky on Parade is sure to bring the whole family fun this summer, here are a few statues we think kids will especially love. Stand next to these six foot tall Bucky Badger statues and strike a pose! Want to take your adventure to the next level? Print out a copy of our Kids Activity Book to keep track of how many statues you see, and earn prizes along the way.

Lucky Bucky

Wisconsin State Capitol
How many pennies do you think cover Lucky Bucky? The answer: 11,759! The majority of these Lincoln pennies are facing heads up, with a few exceptions. One of each type of Lincoln penny is showing the tail side-Wheat, Lincoln Memorial, Lincoln Bicentennial, 2009 (4 designs), and Union Shield – and a shiny W can be seen on Bucky’s chest. See if you can find them!

Animals Need Bucky Too

1 S. Pinckney St.
What animals do you see? Everything from family pets to zoo animals form a collage on this Bucky. Look closely to find all the creatures big and small surrounding his arms and legs. Fun fact: Many of the animals represent real pets!

Bucky Energized

City County Building – 210 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.
By day, Bucky’s solar panel sunglasses soak up the sun, and at night, Bucky’s lightbulb glows brightly. Inspired by sponsor MG&E, this statue features an electric car, solar panel sunglasses and lots of sunshine. It incorporates the passions and dreams for the good of the future Madison.

I Am Bucky

Monona Terrace Community & Convention Center – 1 John Nolen Dr.
Kids can literally SEE themselves in Bucky! This statue is spray-painted a shiny, chrome color, providing a mirror-like finish. Take a picture of your reflection!

Baller Bucky

Red Gym – 716 Langdon St.
Bucky is suited up, with a real basketball under his arm, and is ready to take the court! The statue’s base is made to look like a basketball.

One Leg Up

Library Mall
Fill the hill! The pink flamingos – the official bird of Madison – are out in full force, atop a green base representing Bascom Hill. Fun fact: The turf on the base came directly from Camp Randall!

#GameDayBucky

University Book Store – 711 State St.
It’s not Game Day without a pair of bibs! Bucky is ready to cheer on the team with his red and white overalls, Jump Around shirt and Motion “W” tattoo.

Superbuck

333 E. Campus Mall
This design transforms Bucky into a superhero of epic proportions! The artist used a comic book style to create Bucky’s alter ego: Superbuck. Take a photo with your best superhero pose!

Pucky

Gordon Dining & Event Center – 770 W. Dayton St.
Drop the puck! Located near the Kohl Center, Bucky’s skates are laced up, and he’s ready for the big game.

UW Hospital & Clinics – 600 Highland Ave.
Inspired by the hopes and dreams of the children at American Family Children’s Hospital, kids drawings come to life on Dream Big Bucky!
